Zwischen den Jahren hatte ich eine Live-Recording-Session mit meinem neuen Projekt "M3W" in meinem Studio. Das war die erste Produktion mit einer kompletten Band, die live einspielt, seit dem Umbau des Studios in den letzten Monaten. Alle Beteiligten hatten viel Spaß an neuem Songmaterial zu feilen.

Viele der Ideen sind noch "in progress" und noch nicht wirklich fertig - mehr dazu in den nächsten Monaten. Allerdings gibt es schon jetzt eine Veröffentlichung, die ich hiermit ankündigen möchte: "M3W" veröffentlich am 30.01.2015 sein Debüt-Album "trip" als kostenfreien Download auf Bandcamp. Das komplette Album wurde in einem Take aufgenommen und ist von Anfang bis Ende improvisiert - keine nachträglichen Overdubs oder ähnliches. "trip" ist ein experimentelles Album und nimmt den Zuhörer mit auf eine psychedelische Reise aus Sound-Eindrücken.

Between the years I had a live recording session with my new project "M3W" in my studio. This was the first production with a full band performing and recording live at the same time since the reconstruction of the studio in the last months. All participants had a lot of fun working on new material.

Many of the ideas are still "in progress" and not really finished yet - more on this in the upcoming months. However, there is a soon release I would like to announce: "M3W" publish their debut album entitled "trip" on january 30th 2015 as a free download via Bandcamp. The entire album was recorded in one take and is fully improvised from beginning to end - no overdubs or anything else.  "trip" is an experimental album that takes the listener on a psychedelic trip of sound impressions.

Ich stieß vor kurzem im Netz, auf der Webseite eines kleinen Gitarrenladens, auf eine Greco ES-335. Kenner wissen, dass Greco in den 70er & 80er Jahren in den japanischen Werken von Gibson produzierten und die Instrumente von damals sowohl qualitativ als auch klanglich absolut ebenbürtig zu den Originalen sind. Heute sind sie bereits Raritäten und nur noch schwer zu bekommen.

Ich ging das Risiko ein und kaufte sie direkt ohne sie vorher angespielt zu haben. Axel, der Besitzer des Gitarren-Ladens und Sammler von feinsten Vintage Gitarren, Bässen & Pedals der 70er & frühen 80er, war so nett, sie direkt zu mir zu schicken und so kam sie noch vor Heiligabend an.

Koffer auf, Gitarre raus, angespielt - Liebe! Sie klingt und spielt sich fantastisch. Nur die Pickups sind etwas dumpf und klingen wenig druckvoll, was aber nicht wirklich ein Problem darstellt. Habe ein Paar "Antiquity" -Pickups von Seymour Duncan, die ich bald einbauen werde.

Recently found this ES-335 clone by Greco online at a small guitar boutique. Experts know that in the 70s & 80s Greco was producing in the same japanese factories as Gibson and these instruments are pretty much equal to the models of Gibson in terms of build quality and tone. Today they are already rarities and hard to get.

I took the risk and bought it right away. Axel, the owner of the guitar-shop who's collecting fine vintage guitars, Basses & pedals from the 70s & early 80s, was kind enough to send it directly to me and it still showed up on christmas eve.

Opened the case, took out the guitar and began to play. I instantly fell in love with it. It sounds an plays fantastic. Only the pickups are a bit dull und less powerful, but that's not really a problem. I have a pair of Seymour Duncan's "Antiquity" -Pickups to put in soon.
